Tamaulipas, A Gastronomic Gem in Mexico
Fernando Olivera Rocha is currently the Secretary of Tourism of the State of Tamaulipas in Mexico, one of the gastronomic gems of Mexico. His personal career in the world of tourism is one of the most important and that is why FIBEGA Miami, International Fair of Gastronomy Tourism, has awarded the first FIBEGA Gastronomy Tourism Award forLeadership Impact: Leading professional in the promotion of their destination.
 
With a career spanning over 20 years of service in the public and private sector of tourism, and a professional training in which highlights his degree in Business Administration, obtained at the Universidad Anáhuac. He holds a master's degree in International Marketing and Commercial Management, granted by the Business Institute of Madrid, Spain, as well as being a Doctor of Tourism candidate by the World Tourism Organization and the Antonio de Nebrija University, of Madrid, Spain.
 

Mr. Olivera has worked for several hotel companies such as Howard Johnson and Days Inn, RCI Latin America and Travelport. He also served as General Director of the National Fund for Tourism Promotion (FONATUR), general director of Development of Tourism Culture, and General Director of Development of Tourist Products.
Serving as undersecretary of tourism operation of the Federal Secretariat of Tourism, carrying out diplomatic functions as director of tourism of Mexico in Spain and Portugal by the Tourism Promotion Council of Mexico, as well as an accomplished professor and lecturer in several countries.


 
For all these merits, FIBEGA Miami is honored to present to Fernando Olivera the Leadership Impact Award in Gastronomy Tourism: Leading professional in the promotion of their destination.
The award ceremony will take place at the Miami Beach Convention Center on May 11, during the celebration of the fair.
